Most people assume that they need to have some sort of problem or pain to have to come to a chiropractors office. This could not be further from the truth. Much like your reasons for visiting the dentist: a thorough check up; monitoring an existing problem; or for a sever case of tooth pain, chiropractic is the same. Our clients range from people crawling in agony through our doors, to top athletes wanting to stay ahead of their competition, to business owners needing to stay pain free to earn a living and many children for prevention.

Over the last 10 years, I have seen those people who come in with minor aches and pains improve much much faster than those who leave it till it gets really bad. It always amazes me that people leave back pain to ‘see if it gets better on its own’ whereas if you had tooth pain you would immediately go to the dentist to get it investigated. I guess it’s just where we’re at in our education in back health. I’m sure dentistry used to be like that decades ago. Back 2 Balance’s aim is to get chiropractic mainstream much like dentistry, and for people to think of actively preventing health problems building up rather than reacting reactively only when it hurts. Can you imagine what your dentist would think if you came to see them for the first time ever age 40, not ever having brushed and flossed your teeth? That’s how many chiropractors think about your spinal health! We all know the phrase ‘prevention is better than cure’ and this could not be better said than for your joints.

If, however, you are in the unfortunate position that it’s a bit too late and you’ve already started getting pain, then the following symptoms/diagnoses typically respond well to chiropractic care and manual treatment (this does not mean your chiropractor should only manipulate your spine, but should use other techniques to improve the effectiveness of the treatment).

Low back pain

man-with-back-painNeck pain

Shoulder pain and rotator cuff problems

Adhesive capsulitis (aka frozen shoulder)

Lateral epicondylitis (aka tennis elbow)

Hip osteoarthritis

Knee osteoarthritis

Patellofemoral pain syndrome

Plantar fasciitis

Migraine headache

Cervicogenic headache (headache originating from the joints of your neck)

Cervicogenic dizziness (dizziness originating from the joints of your neck)
