Pain is often caused by injuries to the muscles or ligaments that surround the shoulder joints or even to the joints themselves. Rotator cuff injuries are very common and often arise from repetitive movement patterns such as computer work, leaning over a table or improper gym techniques. Shoulder pain presents as soreness, tension and/or stiffness in the shoulder and should girdle region. It can also be related to cervical spine dysfunction and can be secondary to a range of multiple conditions including those which might include rotator cuff injury and adhesive capsulitis. Chiropractors and osteopaths treat shoulder pain using a package of care that may include manual therapies, exercise, therapeutic advice and postural advice.
